The Philippine Urban Forum (PhUF) 2023 is envisioned to be a multi-stakeholder platform for policy dialogues, knowledge exchange, and sectoral partnerships and collaboration among various urban actors to promote sustainable urbanization in the country.

It aims to advocate a whole-of-society approach towards the achievement of the target outcomes under the six thematic areas of the Philippine New Urban Agenda (PNUA). The forum also promotes the implementation of the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program through partnerships and collaboration with key urban stakeholders.

The various sessions and activities will showcase innovations, new technologies, and best practices on sustainable human settlements and urban development. Investments in housing and urban development projects will also be promoted by linking project proponents with financing institutions and investors. The highlight of the forum is the crafting of the Manila Urban Declaration that will integrate the commitment of all sectors towards sustainable urbanization.

Spearheaded by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development and UN-Habitat Philippines, the PhUF will be held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City on October 5-6, 2023.

Philippine New Urban Agenda (PNUA)
Six (6) Thematic Areas

The Philippine New Urban Agenda, as contained in the Habitat III National Report, espouses the theme Better, Greener, Smarter Cities in an Inclusive Philippines which reflects the aspirations of millions of Filipinos for a sustainable urban development. The PNUA carries principles on housing and sustainable urban development set forth at the international level and places the global New Urban Agenda in the local context

Better Cities are globally competitive, economically vibrant, and livable.

Greener Cities are environmentally sustainable, climate resilient and safe.

Smarter Cities are connected, physically, spatially and digitally

An Inclusive Philippines provides universal access to quality basic services in an equitable and participatory manner. It safeguards children, women, the elderly people, and persons with disability. An inclusive city facilitates the transformation of informal settler families (ISFs) and enables them to live their lives with more pride and dignity.
