Description of the training:

The DILG intends to conduct a Knowledge Exchange Forum for the soft launching of the Developing Resilient, Innovative, Vibrant, and Efficient Smart Cities Nationwide (DRIVEN Smart Cities) Program during the PhUF. Said program, which is implemented in partnership with the World Bank, aims to assist cities nationwide in developing sound vision and strategies in the adoption of smart and sustainable solutions and innovations that address urban concerns. Selected cities will be invited to share their smart city initiatives and practices to facilitate sharing of experiences and dialogues to further promote the development of smart and sustainable urban communities in the country.

Objectives

The activity aims to:
  1. Disseminate the results of the survey on smart city initiatives in the Philippines conducted by DILG and World Bank; and

  2. Showcase LGU good practices on smart city development for possible replication and adoption by other LGUs and to gather support from development partners.

Expected Outcomes/Outputs

  1. How to facilitate knowledge exchange on smart city initiatives and innovations among Cities and other stakeholders

  2. How to develop smart and sustainable programs and projects that are responsive to the needs of the LGU constituencies

  3. How to tap available resources to implement smart programs and projects
